Chop Chop Lah
Basic Instructions
- Summary. This is a two-player game where players take turns chopping wooden spheres whilst trying to minimize (or maximize) the total amount of resulting movement.
- Changing objectives. Change the objective (minimization or maximization) by clicking the objective text at the bottom center of the screen.
- Elements. The main game elements are: (1) wooden spheres, (2) bombs, (3) boxes, and (4) wooden planks.
- Wooden spheres. Total motion is computed only for wooden spheres (i.e. orange, green, blue, and grey spheres). Only red, green, and blue wooden spheres can be chopped.
- Opponent type. You can select to play against a human or AI opponent. For an AI opponent click on the robot icon; for a human opponent click on the human icon.
- Brains. If you are playing against an AI opponent you can select different intelligence levels by clicking on the “brains” text.
- Timer. If you are playing against a human opponent, you have the option to play a fast game, by clicking on the sand clock on the bottom right. In a fast game, each turn consists of a maximum of 4 seconds.
- Ongoing score/movement. The score (total movement accumulated so far) by each player can be seen on the top left for player P1, and the top right for player P2.
- Winner. The winner is announced when all of the orange, green, and blue spheres have been chopped. In the case of minimization, the winner is the player with the smallest total movement, whereas for maximization the winner is the player with the largest total movement.
- Before starting. Before starting the game, players can reconfigure the game scene to a certain extent, e.g. (1) game elements can be added/removed (use the up/down arrows on the sides), (2) game elements can be re-positioned.
- Starting player. Before starting, the starting player can be selected by clicking on either P1 (left) or P2 (right).
- Start. After configuring the game scene, start the game by clicking the start button on the top left. Please note that the game can't start, and the turn will not change, until the scene is stable (i.e. until all elements have stopped moving).
- Reset/restart. Click on the reset/restart button on the top right to start a new game.
